Terms of use
Effective date: . Honest Blocks is still being built and has no public store page yet. These terms describe the game as it is today, and they will be updated here whenever that changes.
1. Who we are
Honest Blocks is made by one person, David Dillow. On Google Play the developer name is "Honest Blocks". In these terms, "we" means the developer of Honest Blocks, and "you" means the person playing.
By playing Honest Blocks, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not play. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the game.
2. The short version
- The game is free. It has ads between games, and an optional ad you can choose to watch.
- There is one thing for sale: Remove All Ads, paid once. Google Play handles the payment.
- Coins, looks, boosters and pictures are for fun. They have no money value. They cannot be bought or sold, and they stay on your phone.
- Play fair. Every leaderboard score is checked, and scores that are not real are removed.
- Do not attack our server or change the app.
- We do our best, but the game comes as it is, with no promise that it will never go wrong.
- How we handle data is in the privacy policy.
3. Free to play, with ads
Honest Blocks costs nothing to download and play. It pays for itself with ads. No ad ever interrupts a game. When ads appear, and when they never do
- An ad may play between games, never during one.
- A button that plays an ad is marked "AD". Watching it is always your choice, and "No thanks" is always there.
- If a chosen ad fails to load, you get what the button offered anyway.
- Ads are provided by Google AdMob. What Google collects is explained in the privacy policy.
4. Remove All Ads
Remove All Ads is the only thing you can buy. It is a one-time purchase, never a subscription. The price is the one Google Play shows you before you pay, about US$3.99 in the United States.
- It removes every ad, including the ones you choose to watch.
- Your one undo per game becomes free. A game with an undo still stays off the leaderboards, paid or not.
- As a thank-you, you also get the Supporter theme and a small gold star beside your leaderboard name. They change nothing about scores or ranks.
- It does not come with coins, boosters or shop items.
- It comes back on a new phone that uses the same Google account. If it does not come back by itself, use Settings, then Restore Purchase.
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play, under Google Play's own terms. We never see your card details.
Refunds
Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. You ask Google Play for a refund, and Google Play decides. Google Play's refund policies
If the purchase is refunded, the game goes back to how it was before: the ads come back, and the Supporter theme and the gold star are removed. A refund takes away no coins and nothing you earned by playing.
5. Coins, looks, boosters and pictures
You earn these by playing. They are part of the game, not money.
- They have no money value. You cannot swap them for money or for anything outside the game.
- They are never sold. We do not sell coins, boosters, experience, levels, achievements or pictures, and no one else is allowed to sell them either.
- They cannot be traded. You cannot give them to another player or sell them to anyone.
- Coins buy looks and sounds only, like block styles, backgrounds and sound packs. Purchases with coins are final.
- Boosters work in Adventure only. They never touch a leaderboard score.
- They are kept on your phone. We do not keep a copy. If you uninstall the game or lose your phone, they may be gone, unless Android's backup or a progress file you saved brings them back. We cannot restore them for you.
The ways to earn coins and the prices in the shop are published in the game. We do not change a shop price.
6. Leaderboards and fair play
The leaderboards are only fun if every score is real.
- When you send a score, our server plays your game again, move by move, with the same pieces. If the score does not match, it does not count.
- We may remove any score that was made by cheating, by a changed app, by a bot, or by breaking these terms.
- Names are made from word lists, like "Brave Otter 4821". You can pick the words, but you can never type a name.
- There is no chat, no messaging and nowhere to type text that other players can see.
- Your country is worked out from your connection. You may change it, within the limits explained in the privacy policy.
- Leaderboard ranks, badges and the Country Cup are for fun. They have no prize and no money value.
7. Using the game fairly
Please do not:
- attack, overload or try to break into our server or this website;
- send fake scores, or send requests to our server any way other than by playing the game;
- change, copy or take apart the app to cheat, to unlock things, or to remove the ads;
- use bots or scripts to play for you;
- sell or hand out copies of the app, or changed versions of it.
You are welcome to share your scores, share cards, challenge links and pictures you earned, and to make videos of yourself playing.
8. The game as it is
We work hard to make the game good and fair. But the game is provided as it is.
- We cannot promise that it will always work, have no mistakes, or never lose progress.
- The leaderboards need our server. It may be slow or down sometimes, and it may be changed or closed one day. The game itself keeps working offline.
- We may change the game, add new things beside it, or fix mistakes. Once the game is out, the classic game's rules stay the same.
- As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using the game.
Nothing in these terms takes away any right that the law in your country gives you and does not allow to be taken away.
9. Changes
If these terms change, the new terms are posted on this page, the date at the top changes, and the change is listed below. Changes that matter are also mentioned in the app's release notes. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
